    • Hi John,

The letter grades “F” and “G” are considered a pass. However, if you plan to further your studies, you must get the confirmation from respective school/college/university on this matter. Each school/college/university has its own entry requirement.

  2. If I want to get 70/70 in math core do i have to get full or do I have to get 70 percent of the core paper marks for Example the total core paper marks is 160 so do I have to get 160/160 for the highest grade or do I have to get 112/160?

  3. What is the relation between percentage uniform mark and actual marks and on which marks will I be graded. What is the relation of grade thresholds released each attempt with past papers with grading. I have just given my IGCSE Economics exam and I got 88 percentage. According to my result I got A grade as its below 90% but according to grade thresholds of oct nov 2018, 83% can bring an A*. What grade do I deserve.

    • Hello Naman,

Percentage uniform mark (PUM) corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. It shows your percentile, not the total mark achieved for the syllabus. It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate?s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade.

Furthermore, every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. As such in order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is updated every exam series.
