Dear IGCSE Team,
I used to use xtremepapers to see past exams but after a while it stopped working and I thought it was literally the end of the world for me. I kept on searching for new websites and found this one, you guys have been truly helpful and I say thank you everyday to have found you. The advice you guys provide are really good and have helped me to take out all the stress from my exams. I even recommended this website to my classmates and they liked it a lot. On Tuesday I will be writing my last exam which is Geography paper 4 and I am excited. Thank You so much for your existence ๐ Wish you all the best in the near future!
Yours truly,
Amaraa ๐
Hello Amaraa,
We are truly happy to hear that. We wish you the very best in your exams and success! ๐
Hey guys, can someone give me an easy 2 mark answer for the term “fraction”?
If you’re talking about chemistry, fraction of fractional distillation, then it’s the distillate collected at a fixed temperature.
Answer:
1. A number usually expressed in the form a/b.
2. A ratio of algebraic quantities similarly expressed.
a small part of a mixture of substances
what subject?
mixture of hydrocarbons with relatively close boiling poinst, collected at a particular level in the fractionating column during fractional distillation of crude oil
Thank you very much ๐
Dear IGCSE team ,
I had done quite well in my E2L listening and didn’t notice the words ” not more than three words ” in the first part of the paper , although hopefully I answered them correctly but all over the limit , will I get zero in that part ???
Hi Wajhee,
If the meaning of your response is correct, you will still be awarded accordingly. Though might not be full marks.
Hey ! I think this might help if you have confusions regarding the difference between electrolytic cells and Batteries (electrochemical cell) :
Definition:
*Electrolytic cells:- cell which USE electric current to bring about a non-spontanous chemical reaction
*Batteries (electrochemical cells):- cells which PRODUCE electric current from spontanous chemical reaction
**Comparison:
Electrolytic chemical cells:-
*Elecrtic current is used
*Endothermic
*Elecrical energy is converted to chemical energy
*The electrodes are made of SAME metal or graphite
*Electrons flow from anode to cathode, (irrespective of the reactivity of the metal electrode)
*Cathode negatively charged and Anode positevely charged
Batteries (Electrochemical cells) :- (it is opposite)
*Electric current is produced
*Exothremic
*Chemical energy is converted to electric energy
*Electrodes are made up of DIFFERENT metals
*Electrons flow from more reactive metal (anode) to less reactive metal (cathode)
*Cathode is positively charged and Anode is negatively charged
—-> **Note: (It will really help if you just thought that IN A BATTERY the more reactive metal is always negatively charged) then you can decide which is anode and which is cathode
I hope this will help ๐
thank u samar so much
i wanted to google that 2 min ago ๐
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH, SAMAR!!!!!!!!!!!
