  1. Hi
I know this is way to late to but i had done my extended math paper a while ago and paper 23 was amazing but paper 43 was pretty hard. I just wanted to know if others who did the same variant found it messed up as well. Some questions were really difficult while others were time consuming. I really hope that the threshold for an A* is lower this year.(BTW what was the lowest threshold for extended math so far?)

      • You always write in paragraphs since in many questions you get half the marks for giving a ‘list-like’ answer

      • there is no 2015 specimen cause economics syllabus hasnt changed
… and u can write anyway as long as your bullet points are explained and you are not listing just short phrases
at least thats what i know

      • hello Sara ,
I prefer paragraphs because it give one a chance of explaining better.
but basically it depends on marks and the question . . . Example MENTION 3 uses of money and marks are 3 i will only state and explain little.
But if is says define scarcity and 2 then you just have to give a basic economical definition and little example ,
So I advice you to look on the questions and understand it .
But again I prefer the use paragraphing and in stating questions using numbering format but also explain briefly.
        Hopefully that helped .

          • And also if they include or ask you to draw graph you have to explain the graph example using production possibility curve explain . . . so it means you will have to draw the graph explain it and combine the idea in relation of the question and also explain the question in paragraph hope you understood ๐Ÿ™‚

          • Mate, there are only two papers for economics. Also, unless the question has “state” or “mention” in it, you must write full sentences.

  2. hello friends,
what does evaluate the implications of particular courses of action in terms of opportunity cost mean?
    pleaseeee help
    thanks ,

    • it means descibe the opportunity cost of a choice through the viewpoint of BOTH choices. talk abt what wld be the opp cost if you chose choice 1 , then what if you chose choice 2. good luck! ๐Ÿ˜›

    • Basically the opportunity cost of any action conducted.

For example, if the government decides to spend majority of their revenue on the building of schools, the opportunity cost would be not being able to invest in the development of roads, or other buildings.

There are a lot of MCQ questions on this

      • thanks Elena and Rohan ,
So it means to be able to understand and explain the benefits of the opportunity cost of the one you choose and the one you left and vise versa right ?

        Thanks once again:)

  3. DEAR IGCSE TEAM,

As a humanities student I still have exams and ya I do love humanities and all but I have one question which I really really want an answer to , why are humanities exams in june ?

    thank you
just a humanities student suffering seeing all the science students done and playing around.

    • Hi Basi,
Then just don’t look at those science students ๐Ÿ˜‰

Concentrate in your books instead. And know that you will soon enjoy too… You should be glad that you have lots of ’empty space’ between your papers. Those science students didn’t even have time to catch a breath as all papers ‘cramped together’ ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • hhhhh thank you so much actually this made me realize how busy they really were they had biology ,math and french on one day and literature and chemistry on one day too!. Anyway , i also wanted to ask about economics 0455 p1 is out of 30 and paper 2 90 this adds up to 120 then how is the syllabus out of 150?
