Hey IGCSE centre……. Can I please know when the Mathematics (0580) specimens will be available??????

Hi! I just stumbled onto this site and found this very helpful! A question, though: can I have English as my first language, even if I am Asian-born? I do have European citizenship, so does that count?
Thanks!
Hi Ashay,
Registering for the subject does not based on your citizenship nor where you were born. It is based on your language ability. If you think you could take English First Language, and this subject is available for Private Candidate in your area, by all means go ahead and register ๐
Yeah am indian and i hav chosen 1st language english..
Hey IGCSE centre, I have been meaning to know why you added the core examination to your exam. I believe it limits students abilities
Hello there,
You meant to say “CIE”, it is not us who added the “Core curriculum”. It is CIE ๐
Well, it depends on how you look at it. You can say, it limits or it helps. Similarly, the cup is half empty or half full ๐
Hi there Girlonfire!
You know what IGCSE is just amazing if you’ve had exposure to other syllabus-you’ll find no other syllabus as student friendly as IGCSE.
The examination is taken up all over the world so it ought to competative and a bit tricky, there are many students out there who if had taken the extended paper would have flunked therefore they feel its better for them to take the core paper and get a C grade rather than taking the extended paper and getting an F grade. It in no way limits the student abilities cuz it encoureges the student to face IGCSE exams with the hope of getting a C in it rather than going ungraded
Hope you got the idea.
Hop into the shoes of a core candidate and look at it through his eyes, his perspective you’ll then realize why IGCSE is student friendly.
Hoping I haven’t offended you
