  1. Dear IGCSE team,
In ‘Hindi As A Second Language Examination’ (Paper2), if the audio ends in 35 minutes, will the candidates get 10 minutes extra as the timings of the paper are ’35-45 minutes approx’?

  2. I had sat for the ICT paper of febuary. I have solved the past papers of ICT for the last 5 years and was obviously expecting and A*. To my disappointment the paper was specific to the course.I had been crying in the exams and most of my class had no idea as what to write. The paper asked no questions that were there in the syllabus and questions were complicate to understand.I am writing on behalf of my center and my classmates who have lost all hopes of their hard work paying off. I hope there would be some solution that could be employed for such situations…
    Aashka from India

    • Hi Aashka,
Please write to CIE directly for this matter.

Firstly you must find out if your school is teaching the new syllabus?

        • Aashka, the same thing happened could have happened to me! But the thing is, that there was a new, updated version of the ICT textbook released in India around July 2015. It contained around 80% of the things asked in the Feb 2016 paper. So you either should have used it or solved the specimen and 2015 past papers. Still questions like the transformation thing in the paper was unexpected and they didnt ask anything about the control processes!

          • for 2016 syllabus, they almost doubled the amount of chapters, it used to be 14 (including practicle) now it is 21, pacticle is the same though.

          • What transformation thing? Can you please elaborate?
cuz i have to give my papers this May

    • hello ashaka i will be appearing for my igcse in may june i was wondering if we talk.As in whats the format and all.

    • True Aashka Jain, same problem for me a too, only when I went throuh the new sylabus, new textbook and specimen paper the before the exam I found there were some changes or rather additions, like that gps question and the rfid. Otherwise yes, there was a total change in the format. The only question which I felt familiar was the “design the form…” one. I never expected this…
Even the specimen paper for 2016 had the familiar pattern as we know.
So I wrote as much as could in a logical way, like how the the ms prescribes (in the previous papers).
The thing I really don’t understand is that for the practical specimen, (where they changed the format and we knew it ‘cus we could download it) was a near copy of the real one, and the theory paper wasn’t! Literally zero information was given in advanced.
They was also another trend which I knew of: syllabus change=specimen paper=easy paper for the board. The first two paper have proved this point except for the theory paper!
Well I hope I did good and I also hope that they really decrease the grade threshold since there was a huge change in the format.
They would most likely do that if a huge percentage of the candidates didn’t do as excepted (my CIE coordinator informed me about this).
Now there is nothing we can do(I guess) we just have to hope for the best!

*same for my other ICT classmate – only two ICT candidates from my school.
