Hi Shaheer,
There is no standard “phrase” as you required. Each essay is different and you must answer according to the question.
Hello, I am Annanya, and will be taking my exams in the November series.. I want know doing how many years of past papers for each subject is advisable….
and is there any other thing to be done for preparing for exams other than the past papers…
It would be really helpful, if I get a response as soon as possible
thank u so much, the website is really useful.
Hi Annanya,
You must do as many years as possible. Besides past papers, you must also refer to your reference books.
Respcted IGCSE Team,
I have some questions. Please reply fast as it would help me out!
1. I got an A in Mathematics (0580), although I expected an A* in May/June 2016 exainations. I am confused whether to send it for re-checking or not? I want to see the mark sheets so then I can decide. When will you publish the grade thresholds or mark schemes? I want them withn this month so that I can decide better whether to give it for re-checking or not!
Please reply me as soon as possile because it will be a great help!
Regards
Hi there,
First of all, CIE is the one who publishes the grade threshold, not us ๐
The grade threshold is available on CIE website. You may get them there.
I have a query about writer’s effect in English First Language. Are we allowed to exceed the word limit given to us, or are we supposed to stick within the word limit? One of our teachers stated that it’s better to exceed the word limit, but another teacher stated that the examiners won’t give a second glance if the word limit is exceeded. Kindly clarify.
Hi Manasa,
Examiners are marking according the how you show you understand the write’s effect, not according to the word limit.
If you write below the suggested word limit, chances are you do not provide enough points to elaborate the writer’s effect. If you write beautifully in explaining writer’s effect, and you exceed the word limit, it is fine. You won’t be penalised.
However, you must take note on the time during the exam. Do not write too much, just to impress, but not providing any valid points and exceed the time set during the exam. You will do more harm than good then.
When will the grade threshold be released online?
Please HELP!
