Hey! Was the ICT theory paper good for you?? It was amusing for me.
Dear IGCSE centre,
Will there be any problems if we use a pencil other than hb or b in OMR sheets?AND
What will happen if we write something on the blank page of the question paper?
Hi Singham,
If you refer to the instructions on the exam paper, you’ll find that B or HB pencil are recommended.
Instructions
Soft pencil (type B or HB recommended)
So, please follow the instructions. DO NOT try to “test”.
You can use the blank page as your workings, but NOT writing your answer. You must write your answers on the ‘lined’ paper provided. Anything written on your question paper, will not be graded unless stated otherwise.
You will find instructions stating:
“Candidates must do all their workings on the question paper. No other papers would be provided”.
If at any point, you’re not sure – check with the Examination Officer from your school or exam centre.
we are told that we can have
extra sheets to write
in case of any situation
Hi Aryan,
We believe you are referring to the ?Writing Paper?. Yes, in ?Writing Paper? you are allowed to ask for extra sheets to write your answers. However, not in any other papers that do not require ?writing?, for example, ?multiple choice papers?.
As mentioned above, always follow the instructions and if, at any point, you?re not sure – check with the Examination Officer from your school or exam centre.
We had no problems
If anyone who did the Feb/March Session 2017 Chemistry 42.
How do you solve the final empirical formula. I got the ratio 2.88:3.85:3.85.
What was the final simplified ratio?
you first need to divide the percentage compostion by the atomic mass the values you get need to be divided by the lowest of them you will get 1:1.33:1.33
then you need to multiply all of them by three so you get whole numbers which are 3:4:4
I too did the Feb/March session 2017 Chemistry paper 42 today and I obtained the same ratio. But why multiply with 3 and not with just any other number?
since multiplying it with 3 gives a whole number in all of them
3:4:4
It was 3:4:4 I am sure about that!
oh no.
i messed up.
i did the Feb/march session 2017 chemistry 42 today. i got the empirical formula correct .
the ratio 2.88:3.85:3.85 is correct , then divide each ratio by the smallest number from the 3 numbers. i.e-2.88/2.88=1 , 3.85/2.88=1.3368 , 3.85/2.88=1.3368. if u notice this is not a whole number so to make it a whole number. multiply 3 to each compound’s value you got.
i.e 1*3=3 , 1.3368*3= 4.001 , 1.3368*3= 4.001. and hence the ratio is 1:4:4
so the empirical formula is C1H4O4
please read the last ratio as 3:4:4
3*1 ks 3 therefore its C3
How did you guys find the paper. Easy or hard?
C3H4O4
am sure
What was the concentration of HCl you got in the last sub question in stochiometry part?{Feb March 2017/42}?
0.088mol/100cm^3
0.022mol/25cm^3
How did you guys find the chemistry papers? Were they easy or hard?
It was pretty easy tbh!
CHO
I did the same, bro
the geography Oct/Nov 2016 paper is missing can you please upload it only marking scheme is provided
